The GR-1 is also much smaller than the T2 and >Minilux. The lens on the GR-1 is excellent. The GR-1 is down to $319 at the Camera World of Oregon store, and their mail order prices are usually a bit lower. I'm gonna get one- it's the snazziest little out there if you can deal with a 28mm lens, regardless of price. It might be a bit much for someone who wants to just take snapshots though. BTW, Ricoh sells the GR-1 28/2/8 lens in an M-mount in Japan. Has anyone on the LUG tested this lens? Another option is the Yashica T4 Super (T5 in Europe) with a 35 mm f/3.5 Zeiss Tessar. I gave my sweetie one; loaded with Superia 400 the results are almost indistinguishable from my 35 Summilux ASPH. (Which proves that 400 speed films, as good as they are, still leave something to be desired.) A T4S can be had for $150 or so. My only complaints about this camera are that it's mildly bulkier than some other p/s cameras, and its shutter lag is longer than I'd like. ..........................................................................
