Regarding the Canon EF 50 F1, I saw one at a dealer Friday. These lenses
are HUGE. It probably weighs twice as much as my Noctilux or more. I
guess Canon just decided to use their large mount size to make a huge rear
element and match it to an equally huge front element. If they had good
Noctilux glass they could have perhaps made it a bit smaller. Makes you
appreciate the compactness of an M6 even with a Noctilux on it.

In comparison to the R cameras, the EOS 3,1n,A2e finders was very, very dim
even with an F1 lens! Although with all this talk about Nikon on the list
lately, I have not seen Nikon with a fast lens like this.

The next time they have the Canon 50mm F1 in stock, I think I will borrow
it and do some comparison shots using the Noctilux. It would be
interesting to see the results. A Noctilux is still cheaper than the Canon
lens though.

Robert Stevens
