The finders of the M4-P/M6 and the M2/M4/M5/M4-2 are indentical except
for the framelines.  Have a look through the former and you'll have a
good idea how to estimate the 28 frame in the latter.  The 24mm frame
would lie *outside* the 28 framelines, if you can see that without
inserting your eyeball into the finder itself.  Remember that the
framelines in the M represent field size at *closest focussed distance*. 
The frame at infinity will be larger than that indicated by the
framelines...I believe I've seen it listed as three thicknesses of the
framelines or something like that.  (One reason I use the BL finders for
90 and 135...they're corrected for infinity)
The fact is, the framing of the M's are not super-precise.   If you need
absolute precision framing you simply can't turn to Leica at all...your
best hope in 35mm is an F-series Nikon or Canon EOS 1/1n which purport to
have virtually 100% viewfinder coverage.
