The camera doesn't know it has a converter. The converter tells the camera the right information. You just treat it like any other lens. The reason you don't see the aperture in the viewfinder is two-fold. I suspect the aperture isn't showing up in the viewfinder because it's not a ROM converter. Is it? As for the flash, it the lens a ROM lens?
