Subject: [Leica] FS: Leica IIIC with 50/2 Summitar.

After just having joined the LUG and been told that
Fridays are "for sale" days, I would like to offer to the
list the following camera and lens.

Leica IIIC - Serial # 4276xx ( 1946/1947 )
Camera is in EX+ to Mint- condition. All parts of the camera
EXCEPT the baseplate are essentially MINT-. The baseplate is
in EX+ condition. The Vulcanite (covering) is PERFECT.
Absolutely NO pitting -- this was NOT one of the IIIc's that had
chrome problems. Mechanically camera is fine from what I
can tell (shutter speeds sound progressive -- slow speeds
seem accurate). The viewfinder is plenty bright for a SM
camera but all SM cameras are less bright than M models (for
those of you never using a SM model)

Summitar 50mm F2 lens #6609xx ( 1948 )
Lens is in EX+ to Mint- condition also. Chrome is beautiful.
Typical lines on extension tube portion of lens body but not
worn through to brass at all -- its all still chromed. Glass has
no scratches I have detected. Per recent threads, there are
a few tiny bubbles in the glass ( what, not "tiny bubbles in the wine" :-)).
But this IS typical of older screwmount lenses -- I have another
Summitar and a screw mount Summicron with these bubbles.
Focusing, Extension are smooth but not loose. Aperture control
is also smooth but no loose. Lens also comes with a Leica front
(chrome) cap.

I would like to sell camera and lens together.

My asking price is:

$650 + shipping.

I live in the Dallas, TX area.
