The UK Amateur Photographer of 12 December, 1998 (incidentally, if someone
is producing a list of useful photographic magazines, this one is not a
strong candidate) has a letter which includes the following:

"Manchester Airport...has installed these new X-ray machines. However,
unlike many, if not all airports, it has announced...the problems these
machines can cause.  Furthermore, it is undertaking to put up notices at
the check-in areas, is even thinking about having notices put in travel
brochures, and is urging passengers to put all film in hand luggage."
