If you look at the numbers, Leica does not sell as much equipment (cameras and lenses) as say Nikon or Canon. Hence, there is not a way to get the economies of scale that many others do. On the other hand, perhaps the "slow to build" quality in Leica lenses offers something since the real reason one owns a Leica is the lens not the camera. After all, you don't ever hear someone requesting to put a Tamron or Sigma lens on a Leica body, even the R bodies. Peter K - -----Original Message----- From: B. D.
