As I know very fine news photographers who use their long lenses to capture the news of the day even for the "little old ladies tea party." And those lads would be more than offended just because they use long lenses with the "astigmatism associated to the A-H paparazzi!" Besides sports, photographers use long lenses in critical news events where police have cordoned off the scene and that doesn't mean they become a "paparazzi" just because they do your work. Sorry I realize I'm nit picking, but these days there are some sensitive photoraphers who get very "P'd" off even when they are jokingly referred to as "paparazzi!" And if you haven't had to defend yourself when confronted in your face with vile comments of, "Oh your one of them paparrazi who go arond chasing people and getting them killed!" You haven't experienced the humiliation of the worst kind. Sorry, it's happened to me and I can assure you it isn't a pretty mental picture trying to convince the speaker that you are merely an everyday photographer working for the local paper ( and not one of those scum bags!) In the evnt you haven't had this experience it's still out there in the minds of many local folks and will not go away unfortunately for a very long time. So please, lets be careful out there when using the "word "paparazzi" when we could be talking about some of our friends. Thank you. ted Ted Grant This is Our Work.
