Rob according to Lager's book on Leica lenses you have a very rare lens. In about 1973 they tried to standardise on the 12504 hood which unscrews to allow a series VII filter to be inserted. After complaints the thread was almost immediately reintroduced. Only a tiny number of threadless Summicrons exist. You have 2 choices, put a series VII filter in the hood or change the lens at a dealer specialising in collectors items for an Asp summicron or Summilux with the huge profit ;-) Cheers Frank
