Cut it to the proper width of your grip. Drill four holes in the bottom of your grip and attach the plate by tapping matching holes in the plate you just made. The aluminum cuts easily on a table saw and a carbide blade is what I use. I have seen aluminum cut with just normal blades as well. I have an Arc type head and have made four plates this way using about $2 of scrap aluminum. I then paint them black and bake the paint on in the oven. From previous posts, I was thinking you could do the same to an M6 base plate if you could find one cheap enough.
