Using AF takes skill.  It takes skill to understand how the particular AF
system works, what it will react to and how different conditions affect it.
Of course any fool can use AF and get a significant percentage of shots that
are our of focus due to a lack of understanding.  However, one who understands
how that particular AF system works (there are many variations) and who
concentrates, can have a very high percentage of correctly focused photos.  In
many situations AF is substantially than MF.  There are, of course exceptions.
