It takes skill to understand how the particular AF system works, what it will react to and how different conditions affect it. Of course any fool can use AF and get a significant percentage of shots that are our of focus due to a lack of understanding. However, one who understands how that particular AF system works (there are many variations) and who concentrates, can have a very high percentage of correctly focused photos. In many situations AF is substantially than MF. There are, of course exceptions. Tom Shea
