Actually, it's the other way around. The R Summicron has a wonderful reputation (and I can vouch for it!) and the M Summicron has never been thought of as being all that exceptional. But I suppose that could be a focusing issue as much as it is a design issue. But I AM anxiously awaiting the R 90 Summicron ASPH APO.
