The 15 is a Zeiss design.  It is made for Leica by Zeiss.  Many years ago, on
a Leica Akademie trip in Wetzlar, I was using the 15 Super Elmar on one of the
photo outings.  Really loved the lens.  Walter Heun, who was our instructor,
told me the lens had a very high rejection rate by Leitz QC.  I trust Walter
knew what he was talking about.
