Well, that is a matter of fact, that lower resolution with larger format lenses was a design positive in the past. When I bought my Rodenstock Sirnonar-N 210mm 5.6 lens for my 4x5 camera, the brochure from Rodenstock said they kepth thelr resolutoin down in the 12-15 lp/mm area or somethign like that, because that allowed them to make more important correctoins elsewhere. Whether that brochure reflects modern (late 80s and 90s) lens design, I don't know. The fact of the matter is, resolutoin is more important the smaller the film. >than an M6, or a G2 for that matter. It seems that people really >seriously into panorama will go for a purpose-built camera rather than >this untried and untested beast. Yeah? Well, I don't think I'd be seriously into panorama to spend $5,000 to $7,000 for a Linhof. So where do I go? An APS camera? I don't think so. If Hasselblad is doing it, I suspect it will be quite the elegant design. But it won't be a replacement for the G2/3 or M6 any time soon. And besides, it has maual focus!
