This was slightly before my time.  I have carefully reviewed
Oddmund's postings using the newly developed search engine.

It seems to me that Oddmund's posting were perfectly
rational.  He pretty clearly stated his point of view.  He
stated that he was doing photography from that viewpoint
(which appears to have been a European socialist viewpoint).
And apparently he implemented that viewpoint.  The viewpoint
was closely tied to Leica and other rangefinder  cameras.
While you might interpret it as political, I did not
interpret it as outside the scope of a Leica or rangefinfder
street photographer.

Much more honest than our current crop of PJs who impose
their political values in secret.  Also much more honest
than the two political party system (which would be one
party in most parts of the world) that the US Constitution
makes de facto upon the US.

The problem seemed to have come from the knee-jerk
reactionaries on the list.
