The R6 and 6.2 are mechanical-shutter cameras with battery dependence only for the metering functions. The most inexpensive Leica SLR I've seen lately is the R3electronic, which was the first all-electronic Leica SLR, but is evidently capable of mounting even the latest ROM lenses. (I've read that the earlier SL/SLII require a dedicated cam which is an either/or proposition with regard to the ROM contacts since they occupy the same position on the lensmount.) I've seen R3's in the under-$300US range. Being a frequent user of others' but never sufficiently dazzled by either the optics or the cameras to trade my Nikon reflex equipment, I would not venture what would amount to no more than a guess as to the comparative merits or demerits of any of these.
