Subject: [Leica] Noctilux aperture ring.

Doug Richardson asked:

"I've just been looking at a used Noctilux which is in mint condition
and attactively priced, but I notice that the aperture ring has quite
a bit of free play - when the click stop for an aperture is selected,
the ring can move about plus or minus half a stop in either direction.
Is this normal?"

Doug, the play in the aperture ring on my Noctilux is almost
undetectable. It's firm at the click stop points. If it's at a good
price and condition I'd go for it and have it repaired.
Phone around for a repair estimate first. See the recent
response on the LUG re. Leica servicing in the UK.
