IMO, the new 35-70mm/2,8 Asph. suffer from a major defect, 
if it's still the same as on the prototype I saw at the Photokina.

There is no lock between the 70mm and the macro setting.
When you zoom from the 35mm to the 70mm setting, suddently
the image in the viewfinder become blurred.
At that moment you know you are on the macro setting.
;-) 

I really hope it will not be like that on the 1999 production model.
