Andre there is a lot of bs printed about titanium and exploitative usefor
consumer items. Watches are one of the few items that may benefit from
being titanium because the bulk of the weight is the housing.
As far as "titanium" cameras are concerned the Leica is a titanium or
Titanium Oxide coating on brass top and bottom parts. As Brass is haevier
than the Mazak alloy used as standard the Ti version is HEAVIER than
standard. I am familiar with the Nikon F2 Titan and have an Olympus OM4Ti,
each of these has titanium top and base parts but since the bulk of the
weight are in the main body and internal parts the weight saving is
minimal.
Pure marketing I'm afraid
