	The strongest earthquakes in the recorded history of the world were
a series of shocks in the area of New Madrid Missouri.  For those of us in
Massachusetts, there was an 18th Century quake which toppled steeples and
chimneys-- we, too, are due.  We should all keep our Leicas handy.
