The PowerPC chips coming out are clearly superior to Pentium II chips. The new G4 chip in some functions is up to 36 times faster that similar functions in same MHz Pentium IIs. And the iMac is less expensive than comparable Pentium II systems of the same performance level. But their Operating system is sorely in need of a few more updates to make it competitive with NT, er Windows 2000. And in the same way, Leica is behind on some things (AF, TTL Flash with Matrix, etc.) but it meets the needs of most of us just fine with state of the art optics, and better than any other camera manufacturer, for us (need we say that?). The M6 is unique in the world. The R8 has many of the best lenses. What more does one want? - -- Eric Welch St. Joseph, MO http://www.ponyexpress.net/~ewelch
