If this pans out I want a film scanner. I have both a film scanner and a digital camera. There are good reasons to have both pieces of equipment. Why? Well, a film scanner is great when you want a digital image file from the sort of picture you would take with your Leica. You have ultimate lens/film choice and will generally get the best quality this way. However, while digital cameras have gotten dramatically better in the past year, you are still not going to get the best resolution from a digicam, and you are limited in terms of lens choice and "film" speed which can limit your existing light choices, as there is no "Noctilux Digilux". A digicam excells in snapshots for which you either want immediate availability for posting on the web/emailing/printing, or frankly do not feel like going to the expense and hassle of developing film and then scanning it for a photo which does not require the superior quality of the film-to-digital route. Enjoy your digilux! _________________________________________________________ DO YOU YAHOO!? Get your free @yahoo.com address at http://mail.yahoo.com
