Tom,

I don't find that lens anywhere near the equal of the Leica 70-180. It's a
great lens for sure, but it's contrast is flat in comparison. It's what
I've always found lacking in all Canon lenses. There just isn't the guts of
Leica (or some Nikon) lenses in the contrast.
