Just to clarify, the batteries were fine; however, it
took putting my R8 "battery case" back on to get
the camera body re-synchronized. I could then
use the winder again on my R8 as well.

Equally irritating is the way the black "whatever"
is peeling off the base plates of the R8 Winders.
So much for "Built in Portugal"  :-( !
