Disengaging the invisible safety release on the Noctilux allowing the aperture ring to open to greater than f:1.0 must be done with extreme care to avoid the dreaded "black hole" effect wherein all available light is sucked into the Nocti thus plunging the photographer and subject into total darkness ;-0 PS: if you cannot find the invisible safety release on your Nocti it is because it IS invisible!
