They are vastly different. The Zeiss lens is a push pull zoom. It weighs about half as much as the Leica lens, which has twin rings for zoom and focus. No surprise that the Leica lens feels considerably more robust. I even questioned the optical quality of the Zeiss zoom, until I realized that someone had played with the diopter setting on the Demo RTS III. It was quite fuzzy at first. Dave.
