My one and only visit to a camera club (the Montreal Camera Club) impressed
me with their obsession with sharpness. It seemed to be the overwhelming
characteristic by which they judged photographs. Thye would present a
beautiful nature shot (well, to my untrained eyes, at least), and then
proceed to shoot it down in flames because of some apparent unsharpness
(which I couldn't even pick up most of the time). I never went back.
