Subject: RE: [Leica] Use 135mm Anymore?

I use the 135 Elmarit-R frequently and like it. I use my 135
Hektor rarely because at that focal length it is easier to focus
the R than an M. Both, however, are good lenses, and the Hektor
has been seriously underrated -- while I am sure that its
successors are superior, for most of my uses I really can't see
much difference.

I use my 135/2.8 Elmarit regularly for theater shots. I also
have a
135/2.0 for my Nikon which I use occasionally, but the noise of
those
cameras limits their utility in most theatrical situations. The
Elmarit
is something of a beast to carry around a lot, and the goggles
make it a
tight fit in some of my camera bags, so when I can I'll look for
one of
the older f/4 Tele-Elmars for work in brighter light.

So in a word, yes we do still use the 135s.
