Leon,

If you are developing b&w film and papers, just send the liquids out into 
the lawn.  As long as thay are diluted with a lot of water, they won't hurt 
anything.  Attach a hose to the drain of the sink and have the other end go 
out to a splash block.  The septic system is mainly designed to process 
(digest) organic remains such as food or toilet waste.  The b&w chemicals 
are not organic, so they do not need to go through the septic system.

You can also drain your clothes washer water out to the lawn.  The grass 
loves the phosphate-rich detergent water.
