The .85 has a larger viewing image and therefore wider effective rangefinder base. It is somewhat easier to use with a 90 or 135. The downside is loss of the 28mm frame line and a harder to see (with glasses) 35 frameline. (BTW These are discontinued and may be hard to find) > >Secondly, which lenses should I go for? I can currently afford to go for >3 lenses + body and this will expand over time. The Choice it to go for >35mm f1.4 summilux, 50mm f1.4 summilux and f2 90mm summicron. This is a good selection. If you intend to buy new, there is a new 90 Asph. Apo due out soon. It might be worth the weight. Consider alsothe 75 Summilux, which is incredible. > >Whats the differences between Summilux, summicron, and noctilux. >If i budgeted to by the f1 octilux 50mm as my prime, would it work >happily in its position as the prime lens? Haven't tried the Noct., but I sure would like to!!
