Subject: Re: [Leica] 35 mm Summilux-R vs. Summicron-R

I decided, years ago, that I didn't want the Summilux because Leica
literature states that the lens is not suitable for use with a polarizer,
due to vignetting. I'm a big fan of polarizers. Also, I use my R camera for
'scapes (hence, the polarizer) and an f/1.4 lens is not useful in that
respect. Also, the 35/2 Summicron-R is rated as a stellar performer. I
bought mine in 1976 and have never been disappointed with what the lens can
produce. It is a true Leica lens. Stunning performance.
