Subject: [Leica] Hektor Dilemma Resolved

The consensus on the 2.5/12.5cm Hektor seems to be that these lenses were
manufactured first at Wetzlar and, later, in Canada, but what "later" means
is uncertain: we may be speaking of January, '54, for the initial Wetzlar
run and February for the Midland.

Leitz produced lenses by blocks, so it is quite possible that a block of
'53 numbers were reserved for any given lens which was not produced until '54.

Finally, there are gross errors in the lens and camera-body lists which
have not been resolved to this day, and which need the services of a fine
scholar to work out.
