I hope you enjoy your new camera. I have an M6 and have used the latest 50mm
sumicron with the built-in hood, an older Summarit, and an older borrowed
model. I also use a 35mm f2.0. The 35mm lenses have the advantage of very
small bulk and weight, and are the preferred standard lens for some people.
I prefer the 50mm Summicron. For me it has the best quality in terms of
image, and I like the balance of the camera when this lens is mounted on it.
I just feels and looks right to me. I also like the 35mm lenses, but not so
well. I very much like the built-in lens hood. You can't loose it, and
because it's there, you use it. Of course, the Sumicron is one of the best
lenses ever made. Hope this helps. Personal preference is the key as all the
lenses are of fine quality.
