My M6 meter works fine with a Visoflex. One simply locks up the mirror
to take the reading and, once set, either fire the shutter or lower the
mirror to refocus, or whatever. Lenses shorter than 65mm do work with the
Viso, but they won't focus to infinity. A 50mm lens on the Visoflex gets
[about] 1:2 magnification. Shorter than the 50, the extension is so
great that the subject is basically touching the front element...or is
behind it! I agree that the Viso is an interesting piece of history, but
it's also a very useful devise to own. I don't advocate carrying all the
adaptors and older removeable lensheads, nor the 280 or 400mm
lenses...if you're needing those capabilities you're better spent with an
SLR outfit. I used to have qualms about travelling with the Leica M
system alone because I happen to fancy shots of wildflowers. Finally I
re-purchased a Viso (the more compact Viso II) and the problem was
solved. I consider the Viso as a dressed-up extension tube which I use
with 50-90-135 lenses for macrophotography. Too bad there isn't a way
(yet) to couple a TTL flash to the M6TTL with a Viso attached. Actually,
I doubt my Viso II would even fit to the M6TTL because the finder sits
flush with the top plate on a normal M6. THe Viso III would certainly
fit, though.

Nigel
