Marc, yeah, I know... :-) My point was about cameras currently in production. But I do believe the best M42 camera ever made (even though I don't like shutter curtains whose ribbons are not replaceable - that I think they shuld stick with Leica style) were SP's. ESes and SP-F along with SMC Takumars had better method of metering than Practica one. Pentax bodies were just practical. Pentax sort of perfected the mount. I am not a professional and I don't swap lens in a hurry. I feel better with Pentax SP's than modern cameras probably because I enjoy mounting and unmounting them. That's one of the reasons I stick with my thread mount leica - because it feels so good ;-). Tom K.
