No. The hood on my new 50/2 is quite stiff. It will not collapse easily. It
takes a deliberate action. It takes quite a tug to get it out. Once out, it
stays out. Most of my R lenses have built-in extensible hoods. I'm a big
fan of these hoods and have never had a problem of premature collapse.
