<<<<<What were your demands. I can't find a single thing I can't do with my 
M6
(except fast flash sync) that I could do with a G, yet many things I can do
with the M6 I can't do the a G. (Such as 1.4 lenses and available light).
As a pro, the G is sorely lacking in fast lenses.

The demands for using flash, pre M6TTL offered no sane combination when 
shooting on assignment for press work. Calculations weren't a problem, the 
old Vivtar 285's have always done the trick. But try loading one atop an 
M6. It defeats the purpose of the M's design. The G system introduced the 
TLA200 with a cable for bounce, and was compatible with the other Contax 
units. Even as things stand now with the new Leica flash unit, has it got 
bounce capability? Or a cable so you can aim it up at the ceiling like with 
the G2 and TLA200? If not, doing inside work is going to limit one to 
direct flash which, as you well know, is a no no in press work. RE fill 
with G2, this is a sour topic with all their units since most don't offer 
any ratio control.

RE lenses. Yes, Contax glass is not that superfast. But I've never owned or 
shot with anything faster than f2 or f1.8. Speed here indicates use of 
natural light, and in most of the work I'm doing I have the required 
support of flash. And the glass is more affordable, which means one can 
expand one's versatility without going broke.
ONE LAST NOTE:
If my work required only natural light, in B&W, I'd go back to the M's in 
''a flash''.
