Anyone recall seeing focotars on the used market in the states with any >degree of regularity? >Mike Leitheiser > >"When the trout are lost, smash the state." > Tom McGuane > ############## You can always buy a new WA Focotar 2.8/40 at Leica Camera. The price (in France ) is absolutely crazy : 6338 FRF (1056 USD)!!! I have owned a 2nd hand Focotar WA. I sold it recently. I have not been convinced by the quality of the lens. It is a plastic junk (My Angenieux g10 is all metal) and the results are not superior to my Angenieux bought used only 600 FRF (100 USD). You can use other lenses on the V35 but without the AF, except the old focotar 4.5/50 (all metal and marvelous lens) for which it existed a cam supplied by Leica. BTW the price of your V35 for sale is too high ! In France a V35 with the lens but without a color module is sold around 4500 FRF (750 USD). There are many V35 on the market and the prices drop.
