Subject: [Leica] Why trim leaders on the IIIf?

I've never trimmed a leader when loading film into my IIIf (red dial,
if that makes a difference).  I've never had too much difficulty
loading it as-is (relatively speaking -- the IIIf loading is of course
a bit tricky).  I've heard plenty references to this leader-trimming
though -- what am I missing?
