The 300 2.8? Tele Apo Tessar? The best 300 2.8 on the market?  Everything
I've heard on Compuserve about the 300 f/4 is that the owners love it. But
maybe they're the only ones willing to admit it? ;-)

That's what I'm talking about. Leica 280 2.8 Apo Telyt. They've been around
since 1984, I've owned one. Absolutely awesome (and it '87 a used one cost
$2,200). They've updated it now in the modular system. I had to sell it to
make it to the end of my last semester in grad school. And I really regret
selling it.

Please, this is the reason we keep saying don't talk about Leica R until
you know the system better.
