Subject: [Leica] M6/TTL

The only problem with using the M6 TTL for fill flash is that unless you
take pictures only at dusk the 1/50 sec. it,s going to force you to do
all your work with Royal Gold 25. Otherwise you will be taking most
pictures between f/8 and f/22. Too bad they can not raise the sync.
speed to 1/250 sec. Then the M6 TTL would be near perfect.

Fred,
Leica have tried to turn this disadvantage into a "feature". In the
equipment descriptions, they constantly speak of the need for fill flash in
"low light" situations. Comment that professionals use fill flash in low
light, and need the added security of a slow syncronization speed to allow
the effects of combining ambient light, then comment on how the vibration
free shutter of the M6 is important in obtaining good sharp images at low
sync speeds, and go on to talk about the advantages of the rangefinder in
low light situations. Clearly the M6 TTL is not meant to fill in shadows in
"normal" lighting conditions ----- you have the R8 for that ;-)
