No one wants to outright ban the discussion of any given topic on the list. But, it seems like a reasonable and common practice to take frequently asked and frequently repeated questions and answers and store them somewhere for new people to find so that the questions and answers don't have to be repeated so frequently. I don't see anything sinister or dark about this. The analogy to the professor doesn't hold up. His JOB is to teach the new ones the same material over and over again. But even there, he has a repository of common material to draw on (the text books), and doesn't have to write the same answers all the time. I think a Leica FAQ would be a good idea, and would cut down a bit on some of the more tediously repetitive threads that crop up every 2 weeks. The truth of it is, there isn't all that much new to say about camera bodies and lenses. Pete
