Hi Carl,

Yep that's a regular occurance, as a matter of fact my assistant and I have
started collecting our "foot and whatever negs" from bumping the soft
release.:) Hell maybe some day we could make a fortune selling them as Fine
art" like some of those psuedo photo artists of the early 1970's. :)

But I guess the trick is to leave the shutter uncocked until you need the
camera and as you put it to your eye advance the film at that point.
However, after these many long years of always having the camera ready to
go without thought of anything more than focus & shoot, I have difficulty
trying to leave the camera uncocked.

Afraid of missing that " magical Leica split second moment!"

But what would you rather do, have this wonderful soft release and loose a
few frames here and there or be dinking along with the pointy end of your
finger? :)

Hey think positive and keep those frames. Heck, I can see it now, there
will be a competition held by Leica for the most inovative soft release
image created in the camera bag! :) And the widgit winner is........? :)
