This reminds me of a story from a friend who recently got his PhD in
embryology. He was struggling to learn an extremely delicate micro-
surgical technique for implanting tissue grafts on reptile embryos,
and so visited the Eminent Biologist who had pioneered the technique.
The aforementioned Eminent Biologist explained that half a beer - not
more - was sufficient to dampen spurious hand movements. Upon trying
this, my friend was finally able to perform the graft. By now, he's
learned to do it even without the beer...
