The 1C is a good enlarger. It makes beautiful prints. But as for parts, I'm
not sure what's still in stock. A lot of people file out their neg  holder
to get the black borders. 

The V35 is much easier to use. I prefer it to the 1C. But it has a soft
light source, so you need to increase your development time in black and
white to get good contrast. I personally prefer that kind of light for my
negatives. And you can buy a film carrier that lets you print the black
borders around the outside of your negative. Just remember that that extra
bit of light coming through the negative base can contribute to flare -
theoretically.
