In fact I just took some photos of the gopher in my back hill (who torments my dog) as he stood outside of his burrow. I used the 400, 6.8 with the 2X extender and the results are quite good. E-mail me your address and I'll send you a 4x6 print if you would like to see it - not a great photo but you can see what handheld shot, 200 speed, looks like at 800mm. I have been very impressed witht the extender and it's not even the new one. Bob Figlio
