Dan C. REPLY: Absolutely! In fact, I would suggest that the feel and operation of the camera - i.e., size, quiet, solidity, etc. - may have even more to do with this than the quality of the optics. Yes, the optics are terrific, but this is 1998, not 1947, or 1960, and there are plenty of Japanese optics that will provide equally good results for most of us for less money. (Bench tests and mural-size blow-ups aside :-) ) B. D.
