I have used F2's a lot over the years (as have many Luggers, I'm sure), and I seem to recall that in one of the manuals or other guides, reference was made to the ability to use intermediate speed settings. Anyone else know more? Sorry for taking this off-topic Alistair ______________________________ Reply Separator _________________________________ Subject: Re: [Leica] intermediate shutter speeds Author: "Don Ferrario" <don@ferrario.com> at Internet Date: 7/17/98 12:02 PM Your old F2 Nikon does NOT work between speeds. It is a mechanical shutter with distinct speeds only. The newer electronic shutter cameras (Nikon F3 and newer) can work on intermediate speeds but only in auto-exposure mode. There is no way to set intermediate speeds manually. Some of the even more recent models, with digital shutter speed displays, can set intermediate speeds. The M6, being mechanical, of course can not do so. don ferrario - -----Original Message----- From: capitaine francky <franck.lequeux@hol.fr> Date: Friday, July 17, 1998 9:45 AM Subject: [Leica] Date: Ven, 17 Jul 98 15:01:39 -0000 > >does shutter speed of the M series, like my old F2 nikon, works between >two speeds value, >eg : 750 between 500-1000 or 175 between the 125-250 position ? > - --IMA.Boundary.148007009 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII; name="RFC822 message headers" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Description: cc:Mail note part Content-Disposition: inline; filename="RFC822 message headers" Received: from ns1.baxter.com (159.198.180.56) by ccmailgw.mcgawpark.baxter.com with SMTP (IMA Internet Exchange 2.1 Enterprise) id 004DC129; Fri, 17 Jul 98 13:02:25 - -0500 Received: from mejac.palo-alto.ca.us (mejac.palo-alto.ca.us [192.147.236.1]) by ns1.baxter.com (8.8.0/8.8.0) with ESMTP id NAA22499 for <stewara@baxter.com>; Fri, 17 Jul 1998 13:02:00 -0500 (CDT) Received: from by mejac.palo-alto.ca.us (5.65/KJV) id AA03177 Fri, 17 Jul 98 10:25:44 -0700 Received: from grape.epix.net by mejac.palo-alto.ca.us (5.65/KJV) id AA03171 Fri, 17 Jul 98 10:25:40 -0700 Received: from GMACCESS (twnd-242ppp226.epix.net [205.238.242.226]) by berry.epix.net (8.9.0/8.9.0/1998061701/Philippe Levan) with SMTP id NAA29391 for <leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us>; Fri, 17 Jul 1998 13:25:38 -0400 (EDT) Message-Id: <000201bdb1a8$58c3f020$65c1930a@GMACCESS> From: "Don Ferrario" <don@ferrario.com> To: <leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us> Subject: Re: [Leica] intermediate shutter speeds Date: Fri, 17 Jul 1998 12:02:20 -0400 Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit X-Priority: 3 X-Msmail-Priority: Normal X-Mailer: Microsoft Outlook Express 4.72.3110.5 X-Mimeole: Produced By Microsoft MimeOLE V4.72.3110.3 Sender: owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us Precedence: bulk Reply-To: leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us - --IMA.Boundary.148007009--
