Don Chatterton, a well-known Leica dealer, has seen the hazing due to whale oil in a lot of tele-elmarits (according to our phone conversation). If the lens has no hazing, however, there's nothing to do but use it. Maybe you'll drop it in the ocean before the hazing appears. Maybe it will never appear.
