Gosh I'm glad you didn't overreact. :-)

Sorry to hear about your problem. I do remember that some of the early
version 1 aspherical lenses fell apart. But this is the first of the
version 2 lenses I've heard do that. I'd think Leica could be smart and
make a happy customer in this case.
